Director and producer ADAM SHANKMAN talks about how MILEY CYRUS and LIAM HEMSWORTH fell in love on the set of “The Last Song” three years ago in a recent celebrity news interview with PEOPLE magazine.
Adam Shankman was one of the few people who got to witness Miley and Liam’s relationship blossom in 2009, and after hearing about the couple’s wonderful engagement news, he said to PEOPLE:
“”It’s extraordinary, and I’m so happy… I’m scared at how beautiful those children are going to be.”
He added:
“It made me cry… I remember that first day of shooting when they first kissed and Miley walked by my sister [producer Jennifer Gibgot] after they shot the kissing scene… She goes, ‘This is gonna work.’”
Shankman also shared why he thinks Miley and Liam make a great couple:
“I’ll tell you what’s so great. That thing about opposites attract… Their fundamental core values are the same, but he’s really mellow and she’s really hyper. So it really works together.”
