In recent celebrity news, ALEC BALDWIN shared his admittedly “none too clever” pickup line to his new wife, HILARIA THOMAS.
Not that Alec has to worry now that he has tied the knot with Hilaria in New York just this weekend but as it turns out, the “30 Rock” actor was not much of a smooth talker.
Good thing Alec was able to get a call from the young yoga instructor, whom he quickly fell head over heels in love with and proposed to just three months before June.
The new Mrs. Baldwin recalled how they first met in February 2011, telling The New York Times:
“I was standing near the door [of Pure Food and Wine restaurant] with my friends when he walked up and took my hand and said, ‘I must know you.’”
She says she then answered:
“‘You must know me?’ And then he gave me his card.”
Alec added:
“I never ask women for their phone numbers.”
Although the actor was the one who gave his digits, Hilaria, admitted that she wasn’t quick to start anything up between Alec, who was 26 years older than her. She told the paper:
“I really didn’t know if I should call him.”
Thankfully, a friend of Hilaria‘s encouraged her to call. Alec, on the other hand, was just thankful for the chance to have met Hilaria.
He gushed:
“I’ve dated a lot of people since my divorce, and have thought a lot about what I wanted and what I wanted to do. I thought about it too much, I suppose. I wasn’t really ready to take that chance and to act until I met Hilaria.”
As it turns out, even the weirdest pick up lines can lead you to your Hollywood happily ever after!
